I recently traveled to SW New York to enjoy the Fall festivities and the changing of the leaves. I had the pleasure of staying at “The Inn on Main” in Sherman, NY. This was my first time to stay at this establishment. Will I become a “repeat customer”? YOU BET!!! This Inn is very quaint, well decorated, cozy, charming and very centrally located to every small town within the 20 mile radius of where I wanted to go. The Hostess, Georgia, was awesome, the breakfasts there were 3 courses and comparable to any served in the finest restaurants. We were welcome to use the whole house which included a cozy parlor and a wonderful dining room complete with coffee, hot chocolate or cider at our fingertips. There are Amish people in the area and it is not unusual to see a horse and buggy while relaxing on the wrap-around front porch of the Inn. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated. There is a private bathroom in each of the guest bedrooms. The Inn is located in the downtown square with restaurants and a choice of churches within a walking distance of a few blocks. There is very easy access to the interstate highway located approximately 1 mile away. The Fall foliage was in magnificent full bloom during my mid-October trip. The smell of the grapes being harvested was everywhere. Many of the local wineries were hosting wine tasting parties. A wine local to the area which tastes exactly like the grapes smell is called “Niagara” and I highly recommend it. Another attraction was “Oktoberfest” held at the Peak & Peak Resort in French Creek, NY, which is located only 7 miles from the Inn. Awesome. I highly recommend this area of SW New York State for a Fall visit. And even more so, I HIGHLY recommend that you stay at “Sherman’s Inn on Main” in Sherman, NY.
